2ND EDITION EUROPEAN SYMPOSIUM BY NEREUS REGIONS: SPACE DATA FOR TOURISM & AGRICULTURE ON 28-29 SEPTEMBER 2023, MATERA/BASILICATA

2ND EDITION EUROPEAN SYMPOSIUM BY NEREUS REGIONS: SPACE DATA FOR TOURISM & AGRICULTURE ON 28-29 SEPTEMBER 2023, MATERA/BASILICATA

What is it about?

The two-day event will focus on using space data for agriculture and tourism, featuring high-level speeches, panel discussions, and presentations on the uses of space data in both domains. Success stories from different regions will provide public authorities and other regional stakeholders a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into opportunities for using space data in agriculture and tourism and identify and promote sustainable space solutions.  Building around regional best practices and success stories, the event aims at providing regions with an opportunity to learn from each other while sharing knowledge and expertise about space assets that were a breakthrough in regions.

Visit of the Italian Space Agency and SPARKme

Following the conference, a visit to the Italian Space Agency– “Giuseppe Colombo” Center for Space Geodesy will be organised on the 29th of September at 14:30 (transport will be arranged, see registration). The main ASI operation center is located in Matera. Brochure Matera Space Center (link). More info: https://www.asi.it/en/the-agency/the-space-centers/giuseppe-colombo-center-for-space-geodesy/ After the ASI visit, the bus will continue to SPARKme before going back to the Symposium venue downtown. https://www.sparkme.space/

Who will attend?

The conference aims at stimulating the dialogue between the user and the service provider. Further, the symposium will bring together politicians, public sector representatives and a diverse range of professionals, academics, and researchers from the space sector to launch a dialogue on the broad range of use capabilities in agriculture and tourism.

Can I participate actively?

All NEREUS partners are invited to identify interested public authorities with responsibilities in the tourism &/or agriculture sector (e.g., head of regional tourism/agricultural agency, staff that works on the strategic and economic implications of these sectors, etc.) to join the session.

You may submit half page presenting your best practice and send it to rayazi.nereus@euroinbox.com and mchrysaki.nereus@euroinbox.com by the latest Friday, 30th of June 2023. If wished the NEREUS secretariat will organize short remote sessions in June/July 2023 (max. 1h) to launch the dialogue between public authorities and service providers. This will be an opportunity for both groups to test the approach before the actual event in Basilicata. Interested participants are kindly asked to contact the secretariat by the latest Friday, 30th of June 2023.
